This patient was unable to find satisfactory and suitable treatment for correcting his cosmetic and functional dental issues. He lives in the Cayman Islands.He was looking for solutions that address his overbite and numerous cosmetic issues involving the color of his teeth, tooth rotations and the uneven sizing and lack of symmetry between certain tooth structures. Although he was able to find dentists willing to try dental veneer treatments, he nonetheless felt unsure of the final outcome. He eventually resorted to coming to the South Florida area to research a greater number of makeover dentists. With the help of articulation studies and diagnostic waxups, the patient discovered that he could address not only the cosmetic issues of having natural and healthy tooth coloration, but could also correct an overbite condition without the use of traditional orthodontics. 
The adjacent pre treatment photo shows the extent of the cosmetic and functional issues that were to be treated. It was determined during the diagnostic phase that the bicuspids would need replacement with properly sized crowns.The material of choice was Lava all porcelain crowns. Reconstructive Veneers
Premium feldspathic veneers were created, on a tooth-by-tooth basis to correct the remaining cosmetic, functional and orthodontic issues affecting both the upper and lower (maxillary and mandibular, respectively) teeth.Veneer temporaries were used with care to assure the patient he had the opportunity to create the precise cosmetic result he wanted. Both the patient and doctor were mindful of the need to achieve the needed dental function and aesthetic results without repeated return visits to the office, due to the travel distance. 
While the patient maintained a focus on the cosmetic aspects of his treatment, the doctor maintained a critical focus on the technical data generated from the articulation studies that assessed the physical factors and forces that were being altered.Changes in bite occur with practically any substantial amount of restorative and reconstructive dentistry... even with veneer products. Monitoring the changing physical forces within the occlusal relationship assures makeover patients that all restorative products have adapted well into the optimized or normalized occlusal plane. For this patient, a major change in occlusion was the intended goal. At the conclusion of treatment, no unusual or unbalanced bite forces existed that could threaten failure of the veneer products and porcelain crowns used in treatment. The patient was excited to have a new and broadened smile without his old overbite.
