She had consulted with a plastic surgeon to determine how it could be treated successfully.She was very self conscious about this "blue tissue growth" on her lip. She admitted to being very embarrased to be seen in public. It had begun to affect her social life. Plastic Surgery not Appealing to Patient
The treatment standard offered by a plastic surgeon scared her.She was afraid that she might have a permanent scar after treatment. She frankly didn't like the treatment description she was given by the doctor. Secondly, she was concerned that there would be a lot of post operative bleeding after surgery. Soft Tissue Dental Lasing AlternativeA dental laser especially designed for soft tissue lasing was used to excise (remove) the unwanted affected tissues. Due to the characteristics of laser procedures, treatment pain issues were not significant for the patient.
The adjacent photo in our treatment and procedure description series shows the tissue condition and appearance immediately following the laser treatment.Lasing treatments, such as the type used here and self cauterizing as lasing procedes. Excessive bleeding does not occur. Note the healthy appearance of immediate, protective scar tissue. The last photo was taken 1 week after laser treatment. 
Laser Specificity EffectsLip tissue is healing rapidly.Inflammation is practically non existent due to the minimally invasive characteristics of tissue lasing. Treatment effects of soft tissue lasing rarely generalize to surrounding tissues.
