Gold Restoration Removal - Veneer Frenectomy LasingThis young businessman was tired of having gold restoration material show in his smile.The gold edging on his anterior teeth, along with the wide gap diastema, he felt, was affecting him in his high visibility career. His goal was to have evenly sized teeth in his broad smile, with no gaps showing and with no gold present. Over recent years, especially with the popularity of makeover, celebrity style smiles that the ABC TV Makeover program successfully promoted on television, the patient felt it was time for a change. 
Dental Laser ApplicationsThe adjacent photo shows very healthy tooth structures that have a large gap between the two main anterior teeth, along with asymetrical gum tissue that is affecting the overal esthetics of other anterior teeth.The patient's cosmetic goal was to have evenly spaced teeth with gum tissue structures that were harmonious and provided a nice esthetic result for his smile. 
The patient wanted all of the gold restorative material removed which would be replaced with premium porcelain restorative materials that would match the rest of his teeth.Frenectomies for AdultsDuring the consultation it was discovered by Dr. Sanderson that the patient could risk problems with his gum tissue pulling away from the new veneers he wanted placed.
Dr. Sanderson performed an adult frenectomy to remove a portion of the frenum tissue that would relieve the potential of minor gum recession around the new anterior veneers.The adjacent photo shows the actual lasing procedure being performed on the frenum. Temporary veneers appear here, which will be used to sculpt the exact cosmetic shaping and color shading desired by the patient. Dental lasers offer ideal technologies for performing different types of soft tissue alteration and is minimally invasive when compared to other tissue modification techniques. 
Pain issues are very minor. Tissue healing is rapid due to the specificity characteristics of dental lasers.The final porcelain veneer restorations appear here. As desire by the patient, the tooth structures appear balanced and uniform across the entire upper arch. No gold is evident in the patient's smile.
